Being Elderly

Posted on October 9th, 2007 in Uncategorized by samk

If I was old I wouldn’t care what people thought of me. I would say what I want when I want. I would watch the world change around me and remind others of how it used to be. People would pick my brains for advice and knowledge. I would yell at the newspaper and newspaper. If I saw something that confused me I would make no attempt to understand it. I wouldn’t need a cane but I would have a long and pointy one that I would use solely for poking. I wouldn’t have a license to drive but I would drive anyway. I would be able to cook but I never would; I’d leave it up to somebody else. I would never sit down but instead pace up and down barking orders like a drill sergeant. People would find me frustrating. Just the way I like it.

mmm….and will you eat lots of chocolate and enjoy the odd swear word? You and a certain Grandad would be great mates.

I know an elderly chap in Napier, Hawkes Bay who should have taken a leaf from your book of wisdom and NOT COOKED the day he decided to cook me an omlette made with chees and peas. Don’t go there readers. Barf.
